Bent gear fork?

Hey guys,

So a herp derp friend of mine did not properly maintain her bike and her chain got too loose and fell off. She ws on a light and as soon as she started to move it fell off, bunched up in the casing cracking it. I took the casing off and sprocket but now when i shift the gears it looks like it goes into first and neutral without issue but wont go into 2 on. Now im not sure if i put the shifter in right or if something in the transmission broke when the chain bunched up.

Anyone know what can be damaged if the chain bunches up and the bike shuts off?

A lot of stuff can happen. The shift lever shaft itself could be bent and causing it to bind which might cause issues. It's possible there is internal damage to the transmission if there was enough force behind the jump. Start with the simple stuff..make sure the shifter is installed properly and is not binding. Make sure the engine case isn't damaged..not just the cover. Once you eliminate all the external stuff you have to start thinking about the inside..

Yes its a ninja 250

problem is i don;t know much of this stuff and i don't wanna open a can of worms on her with fixing price vs selling as is.

just don't scam someone....

just don't scam someone....

are you really going to start again? Please explain how i scammed you? Because i refused to pay 15 dollars for a bolt i somehow scammed you? Buddy get a life, last time i checked when someone decides to charge you for a bolt AFTER you arrive and you decide go **** yourself and your bolt and leave .... its not scamming.

Yes i inconvenienced you.... just like you inconvenienced me.

Kawasaki's positive neutral finder will not allow the bike to shift into 2nd while not moving.....It always amazes me how people dont realize this about their own bike while riding it! most only notice it, and mistake it for a mechanical problem after working on the bike

At least you didnt drop the motor out of the bike, and bring it to a mechanic for them to tell you its normal...LOL its happened!
