Word.

Looking for a second MIPS rated helmet (currently have the Icon Airflight), and am leaning towards the Bell Star.

Any fine folks have experience with these? Any appreciable differences between the Star and Star DLX?

Thanks!

The only difference between the Star and Star DLX is that the DLX includes the Transitions visor instead of a clear visor

Might also be worth mentioning that the Race Star is different than the Star, although they fit the same and take the same visors. The Race Star has a carbon fibre shell and uses a three-layer foam system to mitigate rotational forces on impact, while the regular Star uses a plastic MIPS liner instead of the fancy three layer thing for rotational forces.

Great notes, thank you. I'm familiar with the fit of the Star, so that's good news.

The Race uses Bells own rotational impact tech, vs the independent MIPS stuff? Not as familiar with former, will have to do some reading there.

I’ve got a couple of Bell Star helmets - one street, one track. Good helmets, nice ventilation, fits my oversized head pretty good.
Just picked up a couple of tinted visors to go along with the clear ones.
If you’re looking to buy, check out FC-Moto. I think they’re a German company?....Europe somewhere. But even with shipping, taxes and duty they were about $150 cheaper than anywhere local or Canadian-online.
