Beginner Insurance Questions

Hi everyone,

So I recently got my M1 and I really want to start riding. But alas, I'm going to need insurance and so therefore I wanted to see if you guys could answer some quick questions I had regarding the matter. Basically:

1. I am currently 19 years old (turn 20 in September), got my G2 two years ago, and was wondering if graduating to G license will help reduce my motorcycle insurance?

2. Before I get the insurance, will completing the M1-to-M2 safety course and test reduce the insurance cost even though I still have my M1 since I'll have to wait the 60 days to show documents to MTO, or will it only effect the insurance once those 60 days are over and I officially get the M2?

3. I currently live in Halton Hills, and I think my area is considered "rural" or most likey "sub-rural". Does anyone know some good insurance providers/brokers in that area?

4. For someone at my level, what range for an insurance quote is considered good?

Thanks for any help and assistance -- appreciate it.

Stickies. Look in the insurance sub forum and do some research. There's a wonderful tool called a search bar as we.

1 No
2 Maybe
3 Idk, call around/ use the search function for several of my other posts on cheap insurance.
4 According to this forum, around $3/4000 for your age. I pay half that at our age.

Thank you KarGo. Well, I got quoted $2070 a year with no collision coverage, or around $2350 a year with the coverage. Guess I won't find anything lower than that.

If you dont mind waiting, try waiting a year from your M1.
