Bearings OK. What about seals?

After my last post I'm good on the bearings, but what about ordering seals?. In thee All Balls steering bearing kit you get a seal for the bottom. A large very thin fender washer with a rubber seal around the outside. (fits under the bottom race on the stem)
How and where can I order these kind of seals?

They are flat dust seals. Call amy bearing house, ask for a flat dust seal for a xxx/yyy bearing set where xxx is the number printed on the bearing cone and yyy is the number on the cup (race).

I have never seen those seals anywhere but on motorcycle steering stems.
I have made a seal out of plastic before... it's just a dust seal

They are common where tapered bearings are used as replacements for deep groove bearings and there is no room for a dust cap.

On motorcycles this is only done on steering stems. A wheel on a heavy duty cart or a heavy swivel mechanism might use these.

I thought about cutting the appropriate sized flat washer out of thin rubber But didn't like the idea of the bottom race sitting on rubber.

You can use a retaining washer with RTV coating on the bottom. It’s a gasket seal, not slinging or rotating.

I'll try ordering the flat seal as you suggested as a start.

Got rethinking this. The bikes only purpose is to go in a straight line so I'm thinking @bitzz idea is a good way to go. A snug fitting, lightly greased, fender washer cut from a margarine container lid or suitable tupperware should work and not compress much, if any when the bearing goes in over it.

A thin schmeer of RTV will do.

Grease alone will probably work.
