Be careful with Chinese "Nautilus" Horns

Soon after Stebel horns went from "Made in Italy" to "Designed in Italy", new Chinese horns labeled "Italian Technology" came out for under $30 shipped. I'm a big believer in RTFM, but I also like to test everything before making any permanent modifications, and in this case I just used a bunch of jumpers. Had I wired everything according to the Engrish instructions, the horn would have been constantly on because the wiring harness is /improperly wired. Fortunately, the relay has a diagram and when I tested the setup, it worked the way it was supposed to.

The good:
1) Same sound, probably made in the same factory lol
2) Dirt cheap
3) Come with relay and a wiring harness

The bad:
1) Engrish instructions
2) Improperly wired harness

If you guys decide to ebay those horns, either throw out the harness and wire the relay based on the diagram using separate spade connectors or take a look at the diagram on the relay and modify the harness accordingly.

I bought one last season at canadian tire. It did not have a harness.
Just the relay and horn and picture instructions.

It does say Stebel, but the packaging is generic.

$50

I had to create the harness my self, which is not as easy but more reassuring of course.

Where did you find the chinese one?

Did you do the siphon tube mod and re-locate the compressor?

If it says Stebel and it's from Crappy Tire, it is a Stebel. Just go on ebay and search "compact air horn". They droppped the pricing a bit, seen one seller selling them for $24 shipped from China. The ones shipping from Korea are also Chinese made as I found out when I got mine. I didn't need to do the mod either on the bike or on the cage. Had room to mount up in both cases. Realistically, it would have been easier for me to just put up a bunch of female spade connectors but I didn't have enough lying around and by the time I started messing with it, crappy tire was already closed.
