does it have to hooked up and turned on , all the time ? even when the weather is warm.

thanks.

Yes, if you have a weak battery or run a lot of accessories or use your bike for short jaunts.

oh shiet i've been hooking it on every two weeks for a night . . . is my battery dead D:

My battery has been sitting in my garage for months. Only charged it once

haha alright phew thought i messed up and had to buy a new batt already

My 1st bike ran a battery for 10yrs. I've never put it on a tender, just unplug it from the bike.

I would just charge it every 2mths.

Overcharging also kills the battery

Ahh i see i'll charge it once a month then, everyone else seems to stress keeping it charged all the time -.-

The BT Junior is great.I have two of them that the bikes are plugged into when they are parked. The Couchrocket is always plugged into the older style.Same thing tho.I just clean the terminals once a year and put a little dielectric grease on them.

Neat! I have my tenders hanging from the roof....with quick disconnects to the bikes.

I wish I had more garage space...

I only use it over winter, during the summer I ride nearly everyday, so there is no need.

Since we're on the topic, and it's been brought up a bunch of times, I have a question that has not been answered here.

Some people take the battery out, some don't. Some use a tender, and some don't. Some people take the battery (and sometimes the whole bike) inside, and other's leave it in the cold. There's at least one person for each combination of these that will claim that their batteries last crazy long, and that the others are all wrong.

Does anyone have any objective proof that putting your battery on a tender is the best (or worst) option?
