Got at least 4 tiny bats living in between the siding the exterior wall, anyone know a good company to call to have them humanely relocated?
Knowing how to use google I can search up numerous companies but I'm looking to see if any GTAM members have had this issue and have positive feedback.
I could block the hole after they fly out but I'm worried there could be babies etc. I'm not interested in hurting animals.
I'm in the Erin/Acton area.

Thanks!

Last time I had a bat in the house I think I got rid of it with a tennis racket. Forehand smash if I remember correctly.

Only joking. I did guide it out the house with a racket though. Need to be mindful that if you’re going to get rabies in Ontario it’s more likely to be from a bat.

Smoke them out then close the gap. If they're residents, make bat houses. There are plans online. They will prefer them and they will eat all the insects you dislike when you're outside.

Start off with bat houses for them. I’ve seen lots of those around. We’ve got lots of bats in our area shockingly.

I caught one in my daughter’s house by waiting for it to perch, putting a bucket over it and then sliding a screen between the bucket and wall.

It was a brown bat which is on the at risk list. Hamilton animal control came and got it. It was later released.

Maybe the pros can comment but if you use nets set during the day and catch and release them they might not return if there were babies.

My Mom has tried over 5 different companies in her area (near Goderich ON) and even though many have "guaranteed" their work and that they have closed all entrances to her attic, each year she'll get one or two stuck up there. No matter how many times they come back out and try to close up the entrances, somehow the bats find their way back in. This is farmhouse over a 100 years old, but still.

I too recommend a bat house - you can't get "rid" of them!

Agreed, I think the guarantees are mostly marketing. That being said I still need them removed before anything can be considered.
I'm off to the land of google to see who I can find.. I'll keep this thread updated.

Well, stuck with the bats until August, Reputable places won't remove them, as females will still have a baby they are usually ready to fly by August.
So I'll leave them alone for July. Another thing I learned is most places want to "bat proof" your entire house not just spot work, while I understand this ($$$) I disagree with this being the only option. My house for example would be $2000-3000 to "bat proof" Ouch!
As I'm replacing the facia, soffit, gutters and siding over the next year or two I don't like the idea of spending money just to rip it out later...

I suspect you're out of his territory but I'd call Jarod at The Animal Movers. I trust him. Decent guy and he's my old neighbour. When I was having my raccoon fight, he gave me valuable advise.
