Banshee Horn Warning System

I would most likely be scared to horn after a few times being exposed to this. It could even cause me to panic and jump off the bike =)
 
Generally honking the horn causes drivers to panic more and look around like the worlds about to end. Every second you spend pressing the horn, you can spend maneuvering out of danger, just the way I look at it.
 
I can see two problems with this. The first is that a quarter to a half a second is long enough for you to already be in the side of a vehicle given that reaction time, for a trained rider, is likely in the one quarter to one third of a second. The second is that the headlight would be considered a white, alternating light, which makes it illegal under the HTA. Only emergency vehicles can have alternating white.
 
I have this horn and for the life of me I couldn't find a place to mount it on my VFR!

+1 about the delay issue. I've installed the Stebel and it makes a huge difference getting someone to back off when cutting into your lane. 1/4 to 1/2 second means its probably too late. Best price for the Stebel that I've found is Dual Sport Plus.

If you want the delay, pledge your money to Banshee & hope he actually gets around to building it. If you want to wire the Stebel directly, the best thing is to use an Eastern Beaver wiring harness. It powers directly from the battery with a relay linked back to your stock horn wiring. Linking the Stebel directly to the existing wiring could burn out your horn switch.

BTW it will take more than an hour to install. Took me an afternoon to find the right location & rig up a mounting bracket for the Stebel. Its fairly big, so you need to know that you have room to install it, and a solid place to mount it.
