The latest in a long line of rules and laws that punish the innocent and do nothing to deter or stop the criminal element. That was close. For a minute there I thought they were going to ban guns.Flint Community Schools bans backpacks for rest of school year

For my small kids, it's lunch, water, an agenda, spare clothes and snow pants. For whatever reason, nothing is supposed to live at school, it all goes back and forth. Makes for a comically large backpack but at least it's not too heavy.New policy sounds idiotic
Many kids I see are schlepping huge very heavy looking backpacks to and from school. I often wonder what in the name of god do they have in there that needs to be transported back and forth every day. It's like they're taking home every text book they have for presumably homework purposes.
My niece was at her bus stop in that area with my uncle when she was 12 or so. She saw a partridge and told him to get the gun. She wanted to shoot it and eat it. Some of the other kids at her bus stop were shocked as they had moved to the country but hadn't grown up there. Sadly not shooting from the road and arrival of bus ruined her plans. To be fair, lots of people had guns in their vehicles at school when I was in high school in Madoc. Zero school shootings, mostly just partridge off school property. Different gun culture in the US though.
They're kids. They just throw guns loose in their pants/pockets. Those bringing weapons to school aren't really big on safety. In other breaking news: Flint reports sudden surge in holster sales.
Cheaper for the publishers but they charge the same.I still couldn't believe that by the time my kids were old enough to carry books back and forth to school, they didn't offer a digital solution with something like an ipad or laptop. And considering the price and weight of books, you would think digital distribution would be cheaper.
Normally in the front. Easier to end up on wshh that way.Don’t you just put the gun in the back of your pants ?

That's the point, they can continue to charge the same amount and profit more, but benefit the poor kids' backs.Cheaper for the publishers but they charge the same.
Coats, shoes, . . . Like most gun laws, not even an attempt to address real issues that may make a difference, just lip service to say they are doing something. Now, this ban is a little beyond guns but a pen will kill you just as dead as a knife. You need to address the anger not the weapon. For all time schools have done very very little about bullying and then act shocked when someone snaps. That's a good place to start.I know, it's a commentary on the ridiculousness of the rule. What's next, purses, fanny packs, pencil cases?
