Hey guys,
I lived in the UK for 14 years and for the last four of those had a full bike licence (got Ontario G2 when I was 16, UK full car when I was 23). However, what with there being no exchange treaty I only get credit for my experience so I have to start from scratch... ish. I passed my M1 written test today, and now just need to do the M2 Exit test (is that what the call it?) and I have a full M again.
I have a full set of gear but no bike and so am wondering what's the best way to go about doing this? I wouldn't mind having a lesson before going for the test both to get into the swing of things again and to learn about any quirks of the Ontario test vs the UK one.
I hadn't planned on buying my own bike for a while yet but wanted to have my licence ready to go again. Most of the schools I've looked at seem to want to do long courses for inexperienced riders, should I just try calling them and explaining and see if they can do a quick refresher lesson and maybe use of a school bike for the test?
Thanks in advance!
BTW my history is:
-2005 Honda CB500, had it for a year, loved it but not enough power for the mountains in Wales and also a bit too small (I'm 6'2") so traded it in for...
-2007 Suzuki SV650S, great on the highway but terrible to commute on, hard on the ol' wrists and back. Also a bit hard on the ol' me when I crashed it on a corner while on a rideout.
-2005 Yamaha FZ6, had it until the week before I moved back to Canada, absolutely loved it, will probably get another one when I can afford it.
