coolant leak from hole in front case help!

cbr250, noticed a puddle dripping at every light on my way home tonight, limped it home, no engine lights on, no overheating temp indicator. Took off the fairing, and it's spit out some hole on the front of the motor or clutch or whatever that case is in the front and splattered all over the bottom of the bike and back to the wheel. I thought maybe some screw came undone, but maybe no...??

Here's a pic I found showing it: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/844/9999999991.jpg/

They call this a pump breather? Anyway, the coolant is empty now, and my tire is nice and slick with coolant too.
Can I put water in there and limp it to my warranty provider?

You guys are gonna learn to love my cbr250 and the headaches it gives me.

I can't tell for certain where that is (photo in relation to the schematic). The drain bolt for the coolant may be in that area though. Maybe it just wasn't tight?

I couldn't see any threads in the hole. The photo is of the very front of the right side of the bottom fairing (belly pan?) The schematic doesn't make any sense to me, it looks mirrored to reality. I just found the picture online and just figured out how to post one, i think it's attached, more clear, see the very bottom edge of the picture, that's where that other pic is referring to. Sorry, i shoulda taken pics when I had my fairing off.

Mostly wondering how I get it to be serviced if the coolant is going to all flush when I run it.

That's the vent hole for the water pump seal. Sounds like you blew the water pump. Bike should be under warranty. Take it back and tell 'em to fix it.

You can top up the cooling system with water, just make sure that whoever fixes the bike, does a flush-and-fill with the correct coolant mixture.

What's that old saying about Karma?

Thanks for the help Brian. It's at the dealer now, I got it towed, didn't want to take any chance. No ride for me this weekend...

That would be my guess as well.

Had the same issue with my ktm.....well oil was leaking out the hole. Turned out to be cam shaft seals at the water pump.

talked to them today, pump seals is exactly it and i'll be on the road again by weekend... they say.
