In the fecal matter throwing US political system Trump has been indicted but being a former POTUS he gets secret service protection for life. Does that mean his security detail gets locked up with him?

Politics is like turning over hay bales in a barn yard. Every time you do it a bunch of rodents go running.
 
Are you referring to the original new york indictments for fraud or the new indictments re classified documents? Trumpy is finished politically and probably also finished as a free man. To your point, even indicting him in new york was a new one for secret service that took coordination. Do you allow a random cop to handcuff the person you are paid to protect? SS protecting him in jail should be cheaper than SS protecting him at Mara Lago (with the associated exhorbitant room prices that would be more than enough to satisfy anyones bike desires).

I imagine it's like how they handled it with Charles Logan, by putting him under house arrest instead of sending him to gen-pop.
 
He gets elected and he can pardon himself . And you can get elected with a criminal record . The founding fathers did not see this coming .

That man will never see the inside of a jail cell. Not how the system works.

He SHOULD see a jail cell...but I don't think he will.

Pretty much this. The system is designed to be circumvented by the super rich.

Is he super rich or just a very successful conman? He definitely wants to portray himself as rich. My money is on financed house of cards and net worth isn't all that special.

Does it matter? Rich, super rich, or super influential…he’s not going to jail.
 
State charges he cannot pardon himself if reelected.

The latest fed charges he could if reelected. BUT I predict Biden will pardon him first but will let it play out to see where it goes politically.
