Automakers are listening in on you

Interesting although quite misleading.

It is scary that is collects and reports unknown data, but it sure as hell never reports anything remotely close to 25 GB of data per hour. The vast majority of that probably never even gets stored, it just gets fired around the bus for other computers to see.

As for hard drive capacity, is that available to the user for media storage or the car for data storage? If it is only option A, that is completely immaterial and just fear-mongering.
