Auroras in southern Canada a possibility after 'intense' solar flare: astronomers

After a massive solar flare emerged from the sun on Thursday, astronomers say auroras could dazzle the skies as far south as Toronto during the Halloween weekend.

I believe it is fake, I have spent a lot of time in NWT and Yukon, yet I have never actually seen it....

It is not happening or the weather is crap....

Not fake. I have seen it many times.

Most southernly was while bobbing around in the middle of Lake Simcoe - seen several times over the years.
Most Northerly was while relaxing in a hot spring in Iceland, 2000.
Most recent was 3:30am Oct 18 2020 while strolling along the shore of a lake in Porcupine ON (shown below). T

None of these sightings were enhanced by pharmaceuticals.

I’ve only seen the aurora once. It was around 3am near emsdale area. It was quite a sight and something I’ll never forget. At first I wasn’t sure but then it became a surreal light show. Just amazing.

I lived in Edmonton for a while and travelled for work. Saw the lights many times. Pretty impressive up there, but I'd like to see them from further north some time.
