Are you crash superstitous?

So I was involved in a crash last year about this time and my friend suggested that I not ride that day. He says he never rides on his crash anniversary. Is this common? To be honest whether I ride or not will have more to do with the weather than what date it is, but I am getting a little nostalgic.

What are your thoughts?

It's all in your head.

If you're head ain't right, you shouldn't be riding. Simple as that.

I dont even remember the times i crashed, could probably search for the exact date on here though.

I'll be going to my "crash site" on the 1-yr anniversary to "celebrate" with friends. Unfortunately, can't come on the exact date. Oh well.

Got into a crash in my car, did almost $23,000 in damage to the front end, me, my best friend and my girlfriend all came out of it without even a bruise to show. No charges were laid either. Since then I count my blessings and won't drive on January 4th. I also avoid the site as much as possible.

By that reasoning, we could still ride on the same day each year as long as we didn't get to the crash scene at exactly the same time of day as when the crash happened. Don't you hate thinking 'if I'd come to that intersection 1 minute earlier, I never would have been hit by that jerk."

I'm not superstitious, and my last crash was Friday the 13th. You can't let it stick in your head. It's like having a close call and then dwelling on in for the rest of your ride - if you're isn't in the "now", you shouldn't be on the bike.

By statistics, most crashes happen with a couple of kilometers from person's house. I've been in two small accidents (thankfully, came out unscratched and not at fault in both), both were within 2 km from home. If I am to avoid those areas, I'd be making huge loops just to get out of my neighbourhood.

I don't even remember the dates of my crashes. One happened in June (I think?) and one happened in September. I guess I'm not superstitious then.

No i am not

Nope, I was hit by an SUV flew over the bars and I rode the bike a couple of hrs later from the scene, dented fork, bent rad, warped handle bars and all.
That KLR is a tank.

Each time ive went down ive purposelly road the same corner just to prove its all mind over matter.
Its never the bike thats at fault its the nut between the handlebars and the seat...everytime...

This applies to single.vehicle accidents of coursr

Haven't crashed but just to make sure I wear my underwear backwards and only one sock on my left foot.

Nope not at all :D

Haven't crashed myself. But when I was a pillion we went down. Drove to the spot this summer and went further along that road just to get over it. Felt good to kick the sand and smile all the way home

Luck (or lack thereof) has nothing to do with a crash or misshap in any sport.Say "good luck" to a skydiver before a jump and look at the reaction you get! Luck my butt....i'll skydive and save my life at the end of it because i did everything right!
Get out and ride. But pay attention
