Anyone tried Horseshoe Riding Adventures?

I was looking for a Trail Riding company where they provide the equipment and training for novice (and not so novice) riders. I long while ago I went to Blair Sharpless's place in the Ganaraska forest and had a ball. I wanted to get some of my non riding buddies out for a day where they could get some basic training, and then ride the trails similar to what Blair did. I know Blair's business is now Trail Tours, but was just doing some web searches to see if there was anything similar closer to me and came up with Horseshoe Riding Adventures.

So, has anyone dealt with this company? Good experience? They are a training facility as well, so I assume they must be good with newer riders. Any input would be appreciated.

My gf and I went here in April. It was a fun day. She didn't have any experience on a dirt bike or with shifting gears but she had mountain bike experience and had no problem going on the trails. I didn't have dirt experience, but I have mountain bike and motorcycle experience and I still found it a lot of fun. We did some steep hill climbs, went through some fairly tight trails and some steep down hill sections as well.

The place is run by former Humber College head instructor Clinton Smout and the guy is extremely passionate about motorcycles. He's a great guy to talk to and very down to earth.

I have done it probably atleast 5 times through out the years. Clint the guy who runs it is super nice, they have alot of different sized bikes to fit your needs. Its actually where i learned how to ride, they teach you step by step. Theres a small motocross track to do some laps on, then the trails. You learn alot of things on the dirt that can be used to help you in your street riding. I found it a way better learning experince then i did from the m1 course at sheridan. I would forsure recommend it.

nothing these guys haven't already said...
Had a fun time and Clinton was great. I went with non-riding buddies and they got to learn the basics while I went out for a couple hours and hit the trails. Then I came back and we all went out together, so its great for everyone in the end and you get to see how much your buddies suck...

I did the beginner off-road training last summer and had a great time. The price is decent, the staff are awesome, just do it.

Loved off-road so much, I bought a dual sport ;)

Awesome, thanks for the responses. Sounds like a very similar experience to what I had in the Ganaraska, will definitely give the call.

I'd like to try this out as well, I wonder if we could organize a group to go sometime in the spring and maybe get a better rate?

I did this back on '06 too. Was a ton of fun and lots of skills that translate well to street. Very affordable for what they offer and Clinton is a great instructor - very patient. They do lot's of lessons for kids too.

Could not agree more- off road skills are vital to safe street riding.

Getting a serious brush up on them right now

To the point I'm also considering a dual sport for here long term and even for home - the hassle is there are so few decent places to ride off road in Ontario that are accessible.

Here there are tons. I guess the US has lots but the thought of a days drive to get to them ....... :(

BTW Motopark in Chatworth offers training courses as well but very motocross oriented. Still good skills to have.
