Suit, helmet, boots and gloves.
Lights taped and water wetter in the radiator. I thinks tht all you had to do eh?
I have been looking at it as well, just need to figure out how i can get the bike there
In order to pass inspection for the Intro to Track course, I would:
Replace anti-freeze with Water-Wetter/distilled water
Tape up Headlight/Taillight/Turn-signals (painters-tape is recommended)
Remove Mirrors (Tape up if mirrors have integrated LEDs)
Disconnect/Remove fuses (whichever is easier) for Headlight/Taillight/platelight
Remove/tape up any plastic reflectors (usually on forks/rear)
Remove your License plate
Kickstand does not need to be zip-tied (you will be going on/off the bike often)
Safety-wire not necessary
Otherwise, just be sure your bike is in safe and working order (i.e. good tread on tires, good chain slack, proper brake functionality etc.)
If you're riding there, this can all easily be done at the track (other than fluid change); it really shouldn't take more than 20 mins or so.
Hey Corsara, I was thinking of taking this course too. If I do end up going, I'll pitch in for a trailer with you or even just ride to the track. Seems like it would be a good course to help with leaning into turns better.
Thanks a lot! Is the "remove mirrors" mandatory, or I can just tape up the mirrors and fold them in?
I'm thinking of doing this too. I will probably also need a lift. Where do I sign up for it? or is it a show up and go kinda thing?
I signed up here, still haven't gotten confirmation though: http://www.torontomotorsportspark.com/raceway/track_school_intro.html
Yeah, sounds good, let me know if you're going. I'm actually taking the course because I want to learn the rules, flags, how things go, etc., so that I'm prepared and comfortable to do full track days after that. Also, I hope that it's not just "follow the instructor in circles", but they'll also give us a chance to hit it harder at some point too, hope I get more fun in that respect than what I already get on the highway ramps...hmm
You'll get a chance to learn all the flags, concepts of cornering and all that. As well as following the instructor for many laps.
I believe at the tail end, they let everyone go for a free for all for a few minutes.
Its a fun course all and all, and I applaud this cause it will prepare everybody better and make for a smoother event for when they hits their first real track day, as they will know the protocol and sort of what to expect, without the hand holding.
@CORSARA
Pay attention so you can teach me how it works!
