Anyone rent from this guy before? Seems sketchy..

If he is renting his bikes without the proper insurance (Ie this is why they ask you if you plan of renting the bike out) and you get in an accident I think they insurance company may not provide any coverage. Now you will be covered by the providence uninsured drivers fund that covers your health care and such but the only way to re-coup none covered costs would be to sue the guy.

IMO its probably not legit and i don't know if i would trust it. Im not sure what kind of paperwork you would need to ask for to ensure it is legit

Looks like a small guy trying to start a new business. I bet he tries to charge bogus damages. Also, make sure his insurance is legit.

I've read the agreement and it seems reasonable. I will ask for an insurance slip and ownership... but how do I verify if the insurance is legit?

Call the company who issued it ask if you covered for renting the buy from the owner.. thats the only way i can think of
This is correct. Ask him to show you the insurance slip, and call the insurance company with the policy # to ask if rentals are covered.

So he's a mortgage broker and a car dealer? Rents bikes on a side? One of them he's trying to sell?

Seems like problems if anything were to actually happen.

Is this the same guy who was "offering" Cheap insurance for young riders a couple of months ago as well? I doubt he has "proper" insurance to rent to anyone with an M1 at the rate of $15 per day..lol. I can see the insurer quickly denying medical claims etc.

Ontario No Fault. If you are already covered by an insurance policy, then liability and medical would fall to your own policy is something happened during this rental. Any damages to the rental vehicle would normally fall to the policy that it is covered under, and if rental use was not disclosed then coverage may be denied. Perhaps the gent figures he is covered for that risk by your damage deposit and agreement to pay such if it occurred. Risks all-around, but if you have your own policy you would not be liable to a no-insurance charge if you were stopped, it would be the owner possibly subject to a no-insurance coverage on the vehicle charge.

spelled special wrong, and $1000 isn't going to cover the cost of a kickstand if that Duc tips over....

How does that lead to passing on it?

IIRC, Brampton is the Auto Insurance Fraud capital of Canada. Notice an uptick in Quebec plates on cars recently? Yup, Brampton.

So... let me get this straight...

You're telling me, i can rent the Ducati 848 for a weekend, ride it to wasaga beach, got a foursome (threesome if its a gixxer) and ride back for a total of $300?

SIGN ME UP!

PS. and i only need to pass a multiple choice test? only M1 license.... let me call all my buddies.

lol wow
even if this guy is legit on insurance and renting the bikes
how on earth does he trust someone with their M1??!?!?!?!?!? on an SUPERBIKE?!?!?!!?

I sent him an e-mail inquiring about availability:

"Sorry, all we got available for the next few weeks is 2007 suzuki gsxr750. The Ducati and R1 are rented for two weeks straight and a few days after. Let me know if you want the gixxer or if you want to book the R1 or Ducati."
