I've never heard of a tutor. But i know u can book Intro courses where u borrow the bikes & ride around. I dont think u can do that a few days in.advance tho

If you were closer to the east end i could have given you a hand.

Which part of the test did you have difficulty with?

How did you fail?

It might be helpful to review your examination score sheet and let everyone know what parts you need to work on.

Embarrassing as it is I failed after completing the 1st and 2nd track (they were combined) right at the end - dropped the bike when I was slowing to a stop on the "T". I panicked and forgot how to brake properly. The rest of that trial was all right though - staying within boundaries on the curve and reaching required speed.

Any pointers? I find my trouble is with emergency stopping, always skidding on the rear tire.

Curl your toes up in your boot if you are locking up the rear.

I tried calling Centennial College, where I took the course, unfortunately they do not have personal tutors for one-on-one training :(
Thanks for the advice about curling my toes! I'll give that a shot :)

Georgian in Barrie has private lessons, as well as running a three hour refresher course Thursday night from 4 30 to
7 30

During the course (many yrs ago) I used a 250 for a bit. I found the rear brake always caused the rear to skid - maybe because the brake had no feel or the bike was so light. I ended up using a 400cc bike that was heavier with a better brake feel.

The other option - can you just use the front brake? I pretty much only use the front brake now on my bike - but it has a lot of engine braking (horizontal twin). Just a thought to keep from skidding the rear. Oh, that and ABS :)

CBCanada: I'm in Richmond Hill area, but attending school in Scarborough

bennyskywalker: That could be a reason, I was using a 250CC bike lol!

gwelfmike: I'll give them a ring - hopefully i can fit something in, though it's pretty far lol

Do you have your own Bike? I am in your area if you require lessons. PM me.
