I've been doing some search on bikes, basically buying one over the winter as prices drop.It seems that bikes in Ottawa region go cheaper give or take ~$800 or so and with lower mileage.Could it be that they are a little bit up north way and it gets colder quicker?Spesifically looking for 2007 Honda CBR600RR.Just a thought of the day.

I bought my bike from a guy in Ottawa (Orleans) and I guess I have to agree. Just by looking at kijiji ads after the fact for a couple of months, I'm confident that I got a pretty good deal compared to prices in the GTA. I bought in July.

I've gone as far as Sudbury/Windsor/Ottawa for a bike. If you like the bike and the price is what you wanna pay, sometimes it's worth the trek. Most people in the GTA are delusional nutbags when it comes to bikes and prices anyway. I can't remember the last time I bought a bike IN the GTA.

Maybe because they are closer to Quebec? Bikes there are generally way cheaper than in Ontario. And obviously as caboose mentioned, if you look south of the border, the prices there will be thousands less than Ontario prices.

Is it just me or generally people in the GTA list stuff for way more than they expect to get? Or they expect to get way more than their stuff is worth?

They're simply delusional.

Put it this way im looking at a used car right now, and people with cars that are 1 year old want MORE than what i can get it for brand new at the dealership lol

Ottawa, Sudbury & North Bay markets should be on everyone's radar. Just be prepared to take it home that day or the back and forth will remove any savings.

Not to mention, once you get out of the Godless-GTA, people are nice, friendly and true to their word. Last bike I bought in Sudbury, was over the phone, took 15 mins and all we had was a verbal agreement that I'd show up Saturday to inspect/pick up the bike. Got up there, bike was in even better condition than described, everything checked out, was in and out in 20 mins, buyer had cash, they were happy. Matter of fact, they found the original owners manual and fedexed it to me at their expense, because they forget to give it to me when I left.

Had a similar experience in North Bay. I hate going back to the Gta from the Soo.

They probably buy cheap bikes from Quebec and when its time to sell, the bikes end up being cheaper.

I agree about Sudbary as well. Almost picked up '09 CBR600rr from a cop their last year. It was going $1500 lower than the going rate aroung GTA.

The gta is the worst place to buy a bike... i swear it's remarkable how many people think their 15+ year old bike with 50k+ miles is worth $3000. I mean, c'mon, realistically the thing's worth $1200 but as long as everyone continues to inflate the value of their bike, the high pricing trend continues...

I'm in the market for a new bike now. The prices are ridiculous...
