Anyone deal with Durham H-D?......

A Harley, you say. I`ve been looking for a while at the `24 Low Rider ST, my first H-D at 67 years old, why not? Any purchase, service concerns, warranty work that you`ve had. The list price on that bike is high and I wonder if things have come down with the big inventory left, lotsa` 24`s, some 23`s and I saw a `22 Pan-Am at one dealer. Durham is the closest to home, and that bike is pretty well reviewed, so,.... Thanks for any input.

Friendly and helpful staff is what stood out to me. Seems to be a lot of inventory available so I would try and strike a deal with them. Not sure if you have gear or anything, but they do sell gear there, so you might get a free helmet or something if you close the deal. I also grabbed an HD very recently, but no experience with service yet.

The staff and overall feel is better then it was before it was Durham HD. They got rid of a few staff, thankfully, as before it had some old school "charm" which wasn't helpful. I'd wish they get rid of a few more from the parts department then it would really be much better.
Never bought a bike from them, only dealt with service and parts. Yeah, but they do have lots on inventory. Should be a good time to pickup something or at least get a deal on something while they sit through the off season. Also don't forget to look at the service costs of owning a new bike. I heard that can be quiet shocking. Unless you plan to do your own wrenching, also check whats required for warranty.

With the slow market it might be worth trying to twist their arm to include the cost of the first service into the purchase price.
That can keep the happy to have a new bike feeling lasting a bit longer.

Buying a brand new bike in (for all intents and purposes) December, personally I'd be twisting their arm for more than just the cost of a first service.

Buy a snowmobile in May and see how good of a deal you get. IMHO, buying a new motorcycle in December shouldn't be a lot different.

Fair enough, but by this time next week it looks like we'll have snow on the ground and that too doesn't help motorcycle sales much.
Go on, snow you say. FCS didn’t you see in another thread about me just selling my sled😂

Anyway not meaning to high jack the thread.

I would push pretty hard and travel if you’re not getting the deal that you want.

As of a few hours ago it said "snow" instead of "chance of snow", but that'll probably change another 50x between now and then.

Bought my current ride at AM. It was a no nonsense transaction, just don’t expect any price haggling as their stated prices are their firm prices.

I overpaid a few thousand for my bike as a result given its mileage (and that’s a long story, but I actually wanted one with some significant mileage in it vs a low mileage garage queen), but it was what I wanted at that moment in time at the beginning of the season, in the colour I wanted (which is hard to find in Canada) and buying at a dealer that offered iA extended warranties (one of the few reputable extended warranties) let me buy that as well. Not usually a fan of those but with this bike I wanted it.

I also had a good experience at AM (sale, not purchase).
