I used to do from Burlington to North Mississauga/ edge of Brampton. When no time was available I slabbed up and down the 407.
When I had some time coming home, I would ride lower basline and some of the other roads that run East/West above Oakville/Burlington.
Not too sure what has any merit once you are east of the 403 and into TO
I commute to East Etobicoke everyday for work from Burlington. I usally go along Dundas to Mavis then down to Queensway and across to work. Somtimes I take QEW. All depends on the time of day. I know on the way home I either go down to Lakeshore to Winston Churchill to Uppermiddle road then to Bronte back to Dundas or Queensway to Mavis to Dundas to WC to Uppermiddle road yadda yadda yadda... I avoid using the QEW at all costs during rush hour though. Going the back roads is way faster and more interesting (more "sights" to look at if you know what I mean ). Plus if traffic is really heavy, I can always stop along the way and grab a coffee and bite to eat .
