Anybody ridden around the north of Algonquin this year?

Will probably head from Ottawa to Sudbury this week. Has anyone crossed the top along the trans Canada? Any tips, issues?

I haven't done it for a long time. It sucked. So straight and boring. 533 (Mattawa Rd) is fun (if you don't get stuck behind a moron) but adds some distance. It looks like there is a fun detour through quebec (north on 635) but I have never taken it and it adds a lot of distance.

EDIT:
If I had the time, I would probably take the wandering route just to explore. I don't know if the roads are paved or gravel but I personally don't care either way. 635/Chemin DuMoine/101 North to New Liskeard (I like that name better than Temiskaming Shores)/65/560/Left at Little papoose lake for gravel or left at 144 for pavement. I just checked, my route may be fun but it may not work in June. Google thinks 13.5 hours and 875 km.

@shanekingsley is probably a good person to check with for exploring up there.

Couple of weeks ago, 144 up to Timmins, 11 back. Lots of mosquitos, black flies not bad. Lots of bears and moose, I wouldn’t ride in the dark.

Never been on the North Road but I really like the east-west road through the park for some reason. Not technical at all but some great look out points to stop at, the cafe at the campground about 2/3 of the way through is good (if it’s open) and the surface is good since it was all redone relatively recently.

I did that stretch last year from North Bay to Pembroke.
The road is in excellent shape, not too busy (weekday though). Some dull spots, not as nice (scenery) as going through Algonquin.
It was the first time for me, so everything was interesting enough. Mattawa big wood sculpture, and train bridges, to Petawawa military town.
No issues really to concern with lots of little towns for gas etc.

I haven't been along that particular stretch across the top of the park. I have always wanted to ride south off the TC and down the 630 and Brent Road to see what they are like: Ottawa to Greater Sudbury

Or if there is spare time, then the south route can be made to be pretty fun: Greater Sudbury to Ottawa
Thanks. The last time I did that road I had a 450 nighthawk that would do ~100 km/tank and wanted to be home before dark. Left at sunrise, stopped for gas nine or ten times, blew the main fuse because the ignition switch went dodgy and I had to get the bike started again with a bent fork to short ignition pins and got home 12 hours later (about an hour in the dark, I didn't make my goal). Route was similar to attached map. First half was fun, second half was just distance.

That's a sweet trip on a 450 Nighthawk!
