Anybody ever notice the people who complain in this section about tickets normally state they have a few tickets already? you never really hear "Oh got my first ticket ever. How do I fight it?"

Well what do you think we're complaining about! :D lol it's probably true. I'll admit it. I'm a habitual speeder. Then again, at least half of all highway drivers (and that's being really conservative) are habitual speeders so it really depends to what degree. Can someone who limits themselves to 10 over really preach to someone who goes 20 over? For the record, I've been hit with a 6 km/h over ticket in the past (original speed, not reduced!).

Either I'm just really lucky or smart. I've only twice been pulled over for speeding never got a ticket. I drive on the highway and in the city on a daily basis but have yet to have an issue. I spend most of my time in the left lane as well so it's not like i'm out for a Sunday drive. I just really wonder why some people never get a ticket and others are so habitual when it comes to receiving them?

+1

I park myself in the left going the flow of that lane (Usually 125-140km/hr) daily and havent been bothered, They seem to not care about the ones going the flow, The seem to go after the ones that stick out (Going too fast for their given lane, switching lanes to get ahead of people, tailgaters.....).

It's like fishing, some days you catch a few, other days you don't.

I think people only start to worry when they know it is now going to affect them for awhile, or that someone else will now find out (mom, dad, wife etc.)

Wait - so .... what happened? Was it disputed in court? I would be ****** off beyond belief.

my friend has blown by speed traps, always speeds, and there is is never a cop in sight.

Me on the hand drives in the right lane follows the speed limit and the one day I go 10 over I'm pinched.

I swear some people just have a horse shoe up their ***

I paid it. I was a kid working my first job at a contracting company and didn't know any better. I was in a company vehicle about 100m from the warehouse and just wanted to avoid hassles. The crappy part was that I had an expired G2 license with an accompanying paper license indicating an extension (MTO went on strike that year). The cop wouldn't accept it so she gave me 2 tickets! What a b****. I got the license ticket worked out but the speeding stayed with me the 2 years. Luckily I didn't own a vehicle then.

Immaterial. This section is here to provide help for people who need it, not for people to judge others who are looking for help.

I've posted multiple threads in here. I am ticket free but have a 50/50 accident because officer could not deem who ran the red light.

Some of us just want to be armed with knowledge as it is the only thing that can save you from the police and this section has done just that:

#1. Shut your mouth to cops.
#2. After the event write everything down.
#3. Kick the **** out of the cop in court...with words of course.

I agree it's good to assist sometimes in these matters but its more the fact OP's typically complain about getting tickets frequently and often vs. I made a valid mistake got caught now would like to lessen the blow to my record. I have no sympathy for people who knowingly do something wrong then feel they should get off with zero repercussions. I just wondered if other people had noticed this as well about this section on our forum.

North American culture. We have been raised to be more focused on the individual rather than society as a whole. This greatly changes when you go to places like Japan (mind, you hate Japan, their games have been sucking *** and that's all I used to like them for!).

Again, immaterial. I have recently noticed another upswing in the number of people who come to this sub-forum, it seems with the specific intent of beating up on people who are asking for help. I have done my last 'gratis' deletion of such posts and, from this point on, will be issuing infractions for that behaviour.

Does anyone ever drive or ride exactly at the speed limit all the time? I didn't think so. Sometimes I drive right at the limit and it's pretty damn slow.

When I was in the UK it was generally accepted that there would be a 10% speedo error in most cars and so people usually drove at 10% excess of the speed limit as indicated in the car. It seems here to be pretty much a given that a small excess is tolerated and actually expected but with most things.....everything in moderation.

I got a ticket for 3kph over the limit (not reduced). I plead guilty to it as part of a package to throw out some of the other 13 charges I had on the same ticket :(
