I'm thinking Sept 20, TMP by Racer5, $90. I've heard the TMP track days run by TMP have had some issues. Also thinking Sunday September 9th, 2012, Riders Choice at Shannonville Long Track $150.

I'm signed up at TMP for Sept 20 day, would be great to meet you there!

Also, thanks for summarizing all the options! I'll definitely refer to your post as I'm looking at doing a few more track days before end of season. Shannonville looks promising, especially not being too far from here.

OP: in your list you have Pro6 at Calabogie on september 10. That Pro6 day isnt at Calabogie; its at the Shannonville (long track circuit)

Hope thats a better fit for you.

Ahhh, thanks for the info :) It wasn't clear what "long track" meant, lol. I'll update the list.

My GF has a pretty crazy work schedule so weekdays are difficult for her to get off. We are thinking THIS SUNDAY, Sept 9th, Riders Choice at Shannonville Long Track $150 :)

Need a warm up before TMP?? ;)

Haha, I wish... I'm off to a wedding in Seattle this weekend..

There is also this Thursday Sept 6 at TMP (Racer 5).

I have to replace my chain before doing any more td's. All I heard last weekend was the chinging of my chain, even through my ear plugs.

I will be at Shann. on the 29th AFAIK and I may be there on Thursday. I like to show up at 7:30 to register and screw up their planning. :D

It's either that or Thurs. evening with TOTT. Not decided. If you go Sunday I might do that instead, just for gits and shiggles.

LOL :)

At TMP they were letting some "pro's" session hop into green to "show us the lines", is that standard practice?

My "serious" advice Jamie. (I can do serious every now and then)

This close to the end of the season, and with so few trtack days under your belt, if it fits your schedule then try to stay at TMP. You're getting to know the track so can focus more on riding and learning to ride track properly. If you go to a new track you'll waste too much valuable time learning the track and won't be able to focus on what's important at this stage, which is your riding. Calabogie can take up a whole day just learning the track layout.

If it was the beginning of the season I'd say "Go for it", spread your wings and try different tracks. But this late on? Imho you're best trying to stick to whats important, and that's your riding skills.

Completely agree with this...I may do Sept 8 at TMP or 20th?.....

Thanks for the advice, sounds good.

Jamie: If I can get Sept 20th off I'll be doing SMP. I've got an extra spot on my trailer if you want to come up with me.

Is it shannonville that everyone bitches "I ain't goin back till they repave it?" lol.

What kinda speeds you get up to on the back straight?? Looks like fun!!

I think I might stick to a track I know, TMP, with my new suspension... I won't get a chance to ride it at all before Sept 20, so should probably stick to a track I know.

Plus, I know how wild my bike was over the bumps in 1 and 12, so it'd be a good test to see if I'm just too throttle happy, or if it really was my rear shock :)

TMP is a great learning track, for me anyways. I loved Mosport but I must admit turn 2 was intimidating. Off to shannonville Sunday through riders choice. This is my first year doing track days. And now the road just doesn't appeal to me as much anymore.
So I stripped it down added a few things to make it a little quicker all's that left is to trust the bike and tires, and grow some cahuna's. Lol. The only part I wimped over is tires. Last set 3 days. ? but man the stuck. ?
Have fun and don't treat it like a job and regrets will be few.

Most tracks in S. Ontario are in desperate need of a repave and I doubt any of them will be done soon.
I've only got one trackday this year on my 600 and I basically just stripped the street gear from it and rode it. I haven't had time to get it sorted yet. There's only two bumps on Shannonville to watch for imo and it's very flat.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep it in mind for sure :) I'm still thinkin TMP tho.
