Any suspension experts here? Do I have a rebound problem in my rear shock?

the tire is BT-003, rotation is from left to right.

top tread: leading edge is rough and much taller than the trailing edge
bottom tread: leading edge is lower than the trailing edge, the trailing edge looks intact with little signs of tire wear

I watched some of the tire wear videos by Dave Moss and he said the above pattern indicates a high speed and low speed "rebound valving" problem. But he didn't really explain in detail and he didn't provide a solution either.

So my question is, I feel fine with my suspension, do I need to even worry or be concerned with my tire wear?

I've seen worse.

With any tire that has sipes you are going to have a bit of wear like that, it's basically unavoidable. Based on what the tire looks like on either side of the sipe, I don't see anything 'bad'.

the general wear on the tire dosn't look too bad, however need to know how many laps on the tire. That being said, there is a high and low speed valving issue. On the main sipe where your picking up on the gas the rebound is too slow. You can see the pattern is reversed when your fully over in that the rebound is a little too fast. In order to improve this you would need to revalve the shock.

haha buy race tires and see how much worse the tearing is :) You'll be begging for wear like that.

My brand new S20 rear looked a bit like that at TMP:

And I know for a fact my rear shock has absolutely NO rebound damping at all :( You press down hard on the rear seat and it bounce back up so fast/hard :(

After 15 mins on the track the rear shock is so hot you can't even touch it :(

New Elka is getting installed shortly!! Can't wait to rip it over the bumps in 1 and 12 and feel the difference!

These pics make me envious. I still can't get rid of my chicken strips.

I would have had it ready tonight but the guy didn't show up for work today. I'll have it ready tomorrow, hey wait, you just want to examine my lines! I see what this is now.

Thank you, I understand now, I will get my shock and forks serviced soon.

btw I highly recommend the following videos by Dave Moss
