Any retailers selling Knox gloves in the GTA?

I saw them at GP. Pricy though, not because their at GP but because their expensive anyway. The Handroid model was like over $300 IIRC.

Rider's Choice carries them. Last Fall they had a sale on them, so I picked up a pair. Keep an eye out, they may put them on sale again.

I have well over a grand worth of gloves, all purchased int he last 2 yrs. I got my Handroids from Topendz.
The Handroid looks cool, and it's boa laceup system is quick and easy. However, I think Knox spent all their $ on building the gizmos on the glove, leaving less money for basic leatherwork and construction. The seams have been repaired on mine a number of times. The first time the seams came open on the sides of the fingers was only on my 3rd streetride with them. They held up in a crash well, but the seams had come apart three times from basic use before I ever crashed int hem. They are now my backup pair of gloves.
I have Joe Rockets top of the line glove, and while it doesn't offer the level of protection the Knox does, it is my choice for endurance racing where I need to be comfortable racing for an hour or more without getting off the bike. I also have 2 pairs of Velocity's top of the line glove, and it easily offers the best protection of any glove I have ever worn, but am having a hard time getting comfortable with it.....I may try soaking then in hot water while wearing them, maybe while watching TV.

I would avoid handroids if you were thinking of getting them. Lots of them had problems with seems coming apart with little use.

Define lots...

I think a few of the first ones had some stitching issues when they first came out a couple of years ago and Knox offered replacements. I've worn mine for close to 30,000 kms and the only issue I've had is that the kangaroo on the left index finger is wearing through but there is cowhide underneath.

Omnivore, which pair of Joe Rockets do you own. Is it the Speedmaster 8.0?

I tried on the Velocity PRO glove, while it offered a lot of protection, it was cut wierd. The fingers were all in the same line and not sloping down following the natural curve of the hand. Felt totally wierd!

Also, I am thinking of the Knox Biomech.

We'll see.

Thanks everyone for your opinions.

I'm considering a pair of Knox gloves (probably Handroid, maybe Biomech) the next time GP has a big sale, like Boxing Day/Week. AFAIK, all the issues with the Handroids were in the initial batch, and were replaced by Knox. I know SportsBikeTrackGear had done a view or two on this, and possibly WeBikeWorld as well.

If Knox is still having quality issues however, then I'd have to look elsewhere to upgrade.

I know 3 people who bought them and they all had the same issues. Ask jimmy from velocity how many people needed repairs on them.

I have 2 pairs of VR-PRO and love them. Both have tons of mileage and have been crash tested and are still in good condition.

I can't speak for the Knox gloves but i have a pair of Velocity Pro gloves and like them very much. Well made and very comfy.

Ask someone who is selling his own brand of gloves about his competitions reliability issues? Not sure if serious... lol

Anyway, I can only give an opinion on my experience and I love them.

He said ask Jimmy, becasue Jimmy also carries Knox gloves, and has sold hundreds of pairs of Handroids. I have bought two pairs of Velocity's VR - Pros, but am still on the fence about them, only becasue I can't seem to get comfortable in them. I have weird, twelve yr old fat kid type of hands, so most gloves cause me one issue or another.

My Handroids aren't from the initial batch, or even the initial yr...... Mine are from yr two, and they have seam issues as well. John Bickle tells me that every glove manufacturer with external seams suffers from the exact same problems, regardless of price or brand. He has repaired mine twice and Trackside cuts have repaired them as well.

The Joe Rockets I have are from a couple yrs ago (Speedmaster 7.0) and were their top of the line glove at the time. I really love them.

it's not only you ... I think it's because of the extra stitching on the palm itself.. i'm not sure if it's supposed to help with grip, but i think it takes away the feel.. my joe rockets and held phantoms felt much better.

Thats exactly where my problem lies. The crinkly looking stitching on the front of the palms just below the base of the fingers. The leather there seems to bunch up and make a pinch point while I am racing. It causes my fingers to go numb in less than 10 laps. How can I do 75 laps in an endurance race like that?

note to self...Hide Scottie's joe rocket gloves before next Saturday.

That's okay Joe....I will try to hide them well.....
I have a few pairs of gloves that don't kill me. Just the Velocity ones are causing me issues so far,LOL
