Nice. The Fizzer 400 is legal for LW superbike.

edit: My Fizzer 400 is iegal for LW Superbike because I changed the rear wheel. A stocker with the stock 18" rear wheel won't be, but can't get good tires for those anyhow. I think stock RZ350 isn't legal for Superbike because of 18" wheels, too. Not sure if this was the intent - just pointing it out ... If someone brings out an RZ350, I sure won't be filing a protest ...

thanks ken, I looked earlier, but alas, I impatiently did not scroll down far enough. Lwt superbike is what I expected. What I didn't expect was the prod'n class - looks like a CBR250/300 ninja class wet dream. Got an old bike or single under 400cc? and stock - no fork work (mostly), stock brakes (mostly) stock and even footing - truly a "prod'n class". This class looks really interesting to me, can't wait to see what bikes are run.

edit: wish I kept my old GS500 with its (relatively) wide 17" wheels. hmmm...

shhhhhhh brian ... no one will protest, unless they wants the entire paddock to give em dirty looks all summer... and wouldnt your bike as vintage legal give you the ok?

i think you may have been looking at the lwt prod'n rules. lwt superbike states wheels 16.5 or 17 OK. all good brian!

  1. [*=left]Wheels:

    • [*=left]Must be of stock design and type
My interpretation is they just need to be "Stock" wheels. So running 17 inch Marchesini or Marvics or what ever wheels would make you illegal. But as long as they are stock off of something,, then you are good. NO?

you are looking at the lwt prod'n rules, under lwt superbike it clearly states 16.5" / 17" built of any material- OK. peeps are mixing up the lwt prod'n and lwt superbike rules.

John, you're looking in the wrong section, that's the "production" part.

The "Superbike" equivalent is:

  1. [*=left]Wheels:

    • [*=left]16.5 or 17 inch diameter
[*=left]Front max width 3.5 inch, Rear max 6.5 inch
      [*=left]Un-restricted construction material

Stock Fizzer rear wheels are 18", stock RZ wheels are 18". For that matter, stock pre-'94 EX500 wheels are 16". So my Dymags are legal but stock 16s and 18s are not? Granted, good tires for 16" and 18" wheels in the widths for these bikes are unobtainium (you can get 18" vintage racing tires, but they're too skinny for Fizzer 4x18 rear rims). Most people on Fizzers in VRRA have already changed out their rims due to the tire situation.

I won't be protesting any Fizzers or RZs that show up because of their wheel sizes ...
