I don't have the space or finances to own collector vehicles but when I can find one I buy specific scale models of the real ones I would like to own.

Some are cars I really like and others ones I have owned, driven or at least sat in. Most were economically acquired often at flea markets.

How many Studebakers are there?

Two, being an oddball myself I've always liked the Avantis, Silver, Golden and GT Hawks. I found the black Corgi Toy one and it looked like it had been well played with. I did a bit of a cleanup but later found the gold / white one while at a meet in Arkansas. It's getting boring here so maybe time for an off frame restoration on the Corgi.

In the 1960's an automotive engineer I met blamed Studebaker's failure on WWII and their European styling. Too many Americans had died there for their styling to impress people this side of the pond.

I have a fairly sizeable collection on display in my garage. Set up in a few categories.
Mostly in the 1/18th scale Muscle cars.
Cuda, Camaro, Corvette, Mustang, Chevelle, Chargers and more....
Another grouping of 1/18 scale movie cars
Mustang and Charger from Bullitt, the General Lee, Eleanor, and a Bond Jaguar
My Shelby shrine shelf with 8 or 9 Shelby’s
Then some miscellaneous cars of interest
In total somewhere around 30 cars currently I lost probably 10 or more cars to young kids really really wanting to play with daddy’s special cars.
I lost a great combo that I should have kept safe, a 2003 100th anniversary HD F150 and matching 2003 100th anniversary HD Vrod

Cool collection Nobbie. The old boy had a Studebaker way back. We hit a deer with it in '59, just outside winnipeg. That's how I recognized the gold white. The black one sorta threw me off....that's why I asked.
Circa '66, next dr dude had a '59 vet race car. He worked on it with his uncle. This dude had a brand new Avanti. Their garage was 12ft from my bedroom window. It was magical.....my mom hated them.....lol.

Had a sweet collections years ago growing up. Costco always had nice 1:18 models which I'd pick up. Then little cousins came around and now there's missing wheels everywhere...had Jags, BMW, Ferrari, even a few F1 cars.

Might actually build a shelf for a new collection once the garage is ready. Thanks for sharing.
