Explain to me what you mean by 'light'? Only difference I can see is it doesn't have any fairings, makes it a bit windy on hwy's.
I really doubt it's got the 'Miura' syndrome.
 
I'd love one for a "Riding to work/zipping thru town" bike.
 
Well, my plans to own a 599 are on hold for now.
Went down to see the bike today, couldn't get it started.
Didn't have a plug socket to pull them so I'll wait until sometime next week when the guy can pull the plugs, get it started and I can get an ideea of it motor's good or not. Bike's looking really nice and clean, no oxidation anywhere, no leaks but I'll wait until i can hear that motor running before shelling out the cash. Hope to be posting pics of the bike sometime this week once I get it.
 
Finally got the bike. The seller changed the plugs on it too, she fires up
every time. Put in the order for a Shorai lithium battery for it so no more
issues with dead batteries and trickle chargers, apparently it can go a full
year without a charge, so a 5 month storage in a warm dry place is gonna be
fine.

Now I gotta get some studded tires and go for a ride (it's -20C out here right now)

your going to love the bike. I owned a 04 599 before upgrading to the VFR. Fantasic bike, quick and nibble. It is a little light on the Hwy but you will get use to it.
