Any effective DIY injector cleaning method?

I want to clean my injectors to the point where I can affirm without doubt that any ongoing problem is not due to dirty injectors.

At the moment, my car's idle is just a wee bit lumpy for my taste. At 185000 km I'm sure the injectors have never been cleaned, so I want to throw that at the engine and see what happens. Is there anyting I can do myself and get that kind of result? Where do I rent an ultrasonic cleaner?

what model car,, ? not that it matters,, but rust sediment in a lot of cars that use ethenol fuels is very very fine,, it passes thru filters, but collects on the hot injectors. sort of packs in over years like motar
if you pull the injectors out of the head, and the fuel rail.. and inspect the rail,, if that isn't the case.. then set up some baby bottles to collect fuel. and that will tell you what the spray looks like.. and if they are shooting the same,,,
or... take them to a injector cleaning place... they tell me even new ones aren't balanced,, but that might just be sales talk..

Run a set of high octane gas? I think gas these days have so much detergents in them, you don't have to worry about clogging injectors

To check for proper cleaning, you have to flowtest the injectors. This could be done if you spent enough effort building the rig. Alternatively, getting them professionally cleaned and flowtested saves you the trouble.

In the past I have had injectors cleaned at a diesel shop in Stoney Creek (Peterson diesel maybe, near the old princess auto location). IIRC it was about $50 each for cleaning and test.
