Any DRZ experts in the GTA? Shop or otherwise

I've recently picked up an 09 drz400sm that is pretty built - 440BB kit, cams, carb, etc etc.. I'm not super familiar with thumpers but I THINK there might be increasing motor noise. It has a MCCT, which I adjusted a bit this morning, which did help some.. I'm just a little nervous about it.

I'm open to shops or local experts... anyone who can take a listen and let me know if I'm alright or not.

Also, looking for some suspension work as well, so any recommendations on that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm pretty well versed on DRZs, located in Brampton. PM to discuss.

I'll have to try and meet up with one of you two sometime if I'm free and in the area. DRZ400SM is on my short list of bikes that I'm considering...

Great street bike. Detuned 450mx power geared for street. Makes you want to break all kinds of laws.

Makes you want to break all kinds of laws? I didn't think I had a choice.

That's kind of why I don't have one, aside from the fact I ride long distances too often to have one as a primary bike.

I think that since whenever I'm on a dirt bike I'm used to being able to go balls out, then it would transfer over too much and I'd be stupid on the streets. Way to easy to wheelie, stoppie and slide through corners with something like that for me to keep my license lol... And never mind always being on the look out for stuff to jump.

Thanks guys.. will PM. In the meantime, what's/where's BBoyz? I just moved to toronto, not familiar with... well.. anything really.

rmemedic - the bike has been amazing for the city. I really couldn't be happier for commuting/ grocery getting/ general rips. And insurance is next to nothing - 400 for the year full load.

But while the highway is doable, on my trip back from Oshawa when i bought it, I wasn't even on the 401 and it wasn't exactly fun.

Having insurance that cheap is really, really tempting...

Cheapest bike to run I've ever owned. Oil, gas and insurance. Drop the bike, pick it up ride on, nothing broken.

Do It!

Cheap insurance for sure. $2500 less than what my 636 was.

It's a bike that needs power mods though. Stock bike is gutless. Needs Carb, jets, and full exhaust minimum to put down any power. Big Bore and cams are recommended. I dont mind it for highway and have rode it 1300km in one day.

It's a do-all bike that does all pretty well. Decent trails bikes, good road bike, decent track bike. I rode trails in Ganaraska, GTAM trackday at Grand Bend, and 1300km tour out to calabogie and back all in the same week.

Was south of Guelph today. Had a guy on a drzsm wheelie by me, he turned around and did it back the other way... I'm sold, gotta get one!

Do it. I've been riding 600's and 750's for the past 7 years and picked up a DRZ this summer and let me tell you, its the most fun I've had on a bike in years.
Its like being a kid again and riding a BMX around the neighbourhood, just makes you want to do stupid ****.
