Any Chiropractors in the House?

I need a chiropractor. My lower back is killing me from trying to pick up my bike 5 days ago and it's not getting any better whatsoever. Do we have any here, or can anyone recommend one they like?

He's a bit away from you, but an awesome person and Chiro.

Dr. Scott Dunham

Been my chiro for years and his clinic handles most of our rugby and hockey team.

This guy is just north of King Road on Keele Street. He's a no-bull****, straight-up, fix the problem type of guy, no appointment necessary, just walk in. I'm usually in and out in less than 10 minutes (no wise cracks please - LOL). One or two visits usually fixes the problem. No programs, pricing plans or other B.S. to worry about.

King Chiropractic Clinic
Dr. Stephen Dies DC
13103 Keele Street
King City, Ontario L7B 1G1
Tel 905 833-3300

Initial consultation $75.00
Subsequent visits $35.00

I prefer RMTs or preferably registered physiotherapists. Chiropractors are quacks.

If symptoms don't improve after a few visits to the chiropractor, try the Canadian Back Institute. My chiropractor in King City is far from a quack. There are some out there though. I've been to a few. RMT's are great too as long as your dealing with the underlying problem.

Have you tried Dr. Greenthumb? I believe he makes house calls. :)

It was only a matter of time

I was wondering when someone was going to bring that up.

I have problems with people calling themselves doctors without considerable training and promising to heal all kinds of ailments by allignments of the spine etc. I also worked for a while associated with a neurology department and heard more than a few stories about how they had to treat chiropractors patients for neurological problems resulting from "treatment".

Total quacks.

No treatment, medical, drug or otherwise, is without risk. I hear more than a few stories about medical malpractice. One of my neighbours almost died because of a surgeons incompetence and another did die because of a doctor's incompetence. Two neighbours! Bottom line is, if it works for you, go for it. I'll take my chances with a chiropractor before I go under the knife for steel rods/fusion or on steroid anti-inflamatory/pain management drugs that often just mask the problem. Total quacks? Someone's been drinking the fool-aid!

Not drinking any cool aid...how about rupture of an artery by a manipulation gone wrong from someone who can gain qualification as a chiropracter by paying for a course instead of being amply qualified for it? Not once, but several times by different chiropractors, sometimes resulting in a stroke? This why I will stick with qualified professionals who know the limits of the treatments they profess to give rather than snake oil salesmen who promise the world in return for your money.

If a chiropractor cures your achy back great...but a registered physiotherapist could probably do the same and it would be cheaper.

I'll throw in positive reviews for dr. Embree in burlington and dr dre spina at sports performance centers in Vaughan. Both try to get you fixed up and moved on with your life, none of that come once a week for the rest of your life crap.

Thanks for the suggestions and recommendations, folks! :)

FWIW, my best friend is an RMT and also believes in the benefits of chiropractics. Chiropractics and RMT work well together, actually.
