Hi All,

I wanted to tell you a group of bikers who are riding North America this summer to raise money for cancer prevention - 3 bikes, chase truck the whole works.

Cancer PREVENTION is an idea that is starting to make it's way into the public consciousness. As the drug companies make more and more money on drugs to "manage" cancer (it's a mutli-billion dollar industry) many people, as well as doctors and researchers are starting to realize that there may never be a cure - there is just too much money in Cancer. There is a new, quiet movement that has started - the notion that prevention IS the cure.

Almost everyone has been touched by cancer in their life - personally or through friends or family. These 4 individual have decided to do something about it. They are riding from Vancover, through the USA and into eastern Canada. They are riding across Canada and as they travel they are spreading awareness about cancer prevention.

This ride is 100% volunteer run and a lot of effort has gone into the planning and execution of the ride.

That's what I said too. Medical studies have proven that cancer rates are much higher when we eat or engage in certain activities. I'm am not an expert so I'll send you to the ACT Canadian beneficiaries - Prevent Cancer Now - a national group based out of Ottawa. They are receiving a lot of attention lately.

Your diet probably plays the largest role in cancer prevention. Next in line is your exposure to carcinogens. You would be surprised how much bad stuff there is out there on a daily basis.

Internal combustion engine's exhaust has carcinogens, chemicals in food just to name a few.
 
USA Hospitality?

The ACT has been touring in the USA for the last 3 weeks. The gang is currently in Texas and are going to be heading into Southeast USA and then north up the coast until they hit CANADA!!

Attention All Canadians - The Answer for Cancer Tour will be coming into St. John, N.B. on July 18th and will be embarking on a whirlwind east coast tour - join the ride! If they successfully make it out of Atlantic Canada after being screeched it and multiple pub crawls in Halifax they will be heading west - please consider joining the ride as we travel!

Run Screaming from Newfoundland

Well, the ACT crew have stormed the fort walls, kissed a cod and were screeched in during their time in NL and are now in Nova Scotia trying to recover (good luck).


New Glasgow today, Charlottetown tomorrow, then on to Bristol, NB and Quebec City.


Please come out and join us for a portion of the ride - we need local ideas on where to go and what to see when we are in your area...


The ACT is heading towards a final destination of Vancouver on August 13th!

Brunch in Ottawa!

The Answer for Cancer tour is coming to Ottawa on Sunday, July 31st. The tour will have been on the road for 52 days raising money for cancer awareness.


Come out to Maxwell's Bistro on Elgin Street for their famous Sunday brunch. Ride out of Ottawa with us afterwards.
