One man is dead after a motorcycle and truck collided on Hwy. 410 in Brampton.

The crash happened around 9 a.m. near Steeles Ave.

Witnesses said the motorcycle was travelling northbound on Hwy 410 at a high speed when it hit the back of a 5 tonne truck, OPP said.

The motorcyclist flew off and hit the pavement, OPP said.

The victim, a man, was pronounced dead the scene. A coroner has been called to the scene.

The truck driver was not injured, OPP said.

All northbound lanes on Hwy. 410 between the on and ramps. are closed as police investigate.

OPP say the closure will last for several hours.

I can't believe this!!! Hit the back of a 5 ton truck, traveling the same direction on a highway...

I was driving SB on the 410 around that area at that time and heard a huge sound - sounded to me like a bike accelerating with a bad muffler, but didn't see anything - couldn't tell if it was something on NB or a bike merging SB since I was decelerating for dead stopped traffic past Derry. All I knew was it was behind me somewhere..... very sad to hear. Another big truck accident too. RIP.

seriously this is getting out of hand.

RIP rider. I use this stretch of the 410 ALL the time.
