Third Line Homes built a subdivision in Meaford. Holmes provided financing for the developer, marketing, a perceived connection to the site, etc. Defects were found after construction significant enough that some houses were torn down as that was cheaper than repair. Holmes denies a connection to the site.

Yup I read that. The guy may have been a good name in contracting years ago (he wasn't according to reports), but now is nothing more than a brand name that he sells to anyone that pays.

Hell, I could probably call him up, ask how much, and use 'Mike Holmes approved' on my dad's new venture. All without him stepping food on a job site.

I suspect you're right. It's all about money.

Where possible, I refuse to buy anything that is Holmes approved or branded as I automatically assume they were focused on the wrong thing (image instead of technical superiority).

The "Dog the Bounty Hunter" of construction. What does he care? He's loaded now.

Pretty strong connection considering his motto is the only way to fix stuff is to tear it down to the foundation and start from scratch.

Epic fail on his new show with son and daughter...

I believe the episode is actually called "Ungrounded". The premise being the electrical panel/service was ungrounded and everyone was about to die (as usual). His electrician and him are standing at the panel and are pointing to a small length of cut 14G Romex that is hanging out of the top of the panel (branch circuit section not service section) and they are saying that this is the ground for the house and it is cut. Electrician then goes on to point where it should route through the panel (pointing to the branch circuit section and making a motion to the service side)! I kept replaying the scene in disbelief that maybe I missed something.

I get it is TV but are they all that dumb or lazy? Maybe the panel did or did not have a ground, either way it ain't going to be no Romex. Didn't they atleast have a short length of green #6 they could have put in and to pointed that?

Moral of the story, they made a really good case to never hire his electrician....

Rant & hijack. I have a hate on against narcissists. There are a few in the family and I have the stab wounds in my back to prove it. Trump, Trudeau, Holmes etc are more public figures.

Beware of narcissists. Be very careful about how you handle them. They will throw you under the nearest bus.

I've met Mike and his son MikeJr on numerous occasions and he's a good guy . He's fun to be around . He is (was) a decent contractor but like most of those guys , his marketing and sales team took him in a lot of directions. Most of them not so good , the building of false drama into the shows , and branding his name on everything from mittens to goats milk . I'd be surpirised if he even knew what he was 'involved ' in at this point.

They likely have clouds of file photos , him in his T shirt , overalls holding a baby, swinging a hammer . Drop him into whatever frame you need. If you look at some of his photos on product in the last yr. Its him, a decade ago

So basically same as real estate agents?

‘Are you MP?’
‘Who the hell are you?’
‘Agent your friend sent me!’
‘Uhm….this pic is what…20 years ago?’
‘Yes yes! People don’t like working with older agents’

Bait and switch lol.

My facebook photo is approaching 20 years old. I may update at that point. They don't need a constant stream of photos to use for evil.

EDIT:
For hilarious agent pics, I like this guy. He used this pic on his business cards across multiple companies.
