Amazon prime air

I can see kids trying to knock them down with their $10 rc planes.
Once the first one falls out of the sky and causes a massive traffic accident it will all come to a halt.

I have been very wrong before but that seems really dumb.

How about thousands of those things buzzing around, crashing into people, hydro wires, pigeons and what have you?

I am sure already widely used for flying drugs across borders tho.

lol, what wishful thinking....

whats the range on those? couple km before batteries die?

best i can think of is a truck pulls up to a neighbour and releases a whole bunch of these to deliver packages simultaneously.

So if I'm not happy with the service, I can strap a bomb to that drone?
Return to sender?

They will be great target practice on a moving target!

I think it's a non starter as people can claim they didn't receive it, too many obstacles around (trees, wires, etc) and Amazon would spend all the savings retrieving them or replacing damaged or stolen ones.

as for use of drugs...I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about that use already!

Ummm... yea because people shoot RPGs at cargo planes all the time and UPS uses armored vehicles to deliver.
Drones probably have GPS and data to confirm location.
The sky is falling GTAM.

The fact is this whole idea is way too new for us to understand and therefore trust it. Anything we have thought of in terms of problems I'm sure amazon has already thought of.

That being said I'm sure there will be restrictions on what items can be shipped this way and I'm willing to bet it'll cost an extra $20 on your order. If it ever happens I'd have to try it once just to see it with my own eyes. It seems Amazon is taking this seriously though.
