Aluminum polishing recos

hey GTAM,

looking for some reco's for aluminum polishing in the GTA if you have any?

I've got a new aluminum swingarm set to go on a 2023 Honda Monkey 125. It looks pretty good, but there are some areas that I like to see improved if possible before it goes on the bike.

I doubt it would take more than an hour or two for someone who knows their stuff.

appreciate any contacts you can offer

cheers

Tim

Super easy to do on your own if you have a buffing wheel. DIY buffing wheels are easy to make. I have a mandrel on an old electric motor and a crappy tire buffing wheel. With that and some compound you're in business.

Biggest concern is if there is a plastic coating protecting the finish. That usually has to be sanded off - something fine like 320 grit - is enough to remove coating. Maybe follow with 600 and then it buffs up nice.

The problem with polishing an aluminum frame/swingarm is the constant upkeep as it looks awful when dirty or quickly wiped down.
I vowed never to do it again after my first experience on my ZX-7. If I were to do it again, I'd at least get it anodized clear after the initial polish, or more likely a "hyperblack" finish.

^this...

High polish then clear anodize. Untreated aluminum is not your friend in the open air.
