Akrapovic Exhaust Silencer Tip Removal

I installed an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust on my Ninja 300. It sounds great. I also wanted to check how it sounded without the silencer tip, and it sounds even better. Are there any effects of removing this tip, such as fuel economy?

I doubt it. Did you also change the air filter? Did you also change the engine mapping? Not always needed with a slip on as opposed to a full system since you're retaining the stock headers but to see any real improvement you'd need make those changes too.

The only real effect would be to make me cringe when you drive by.

You're right ... sounds louder. No, I haven't changed the air filter nor changed the engine mapping.
