AJC vs YUASA battery for SUZUKI GW250F

Hi everyone,

I bought 2015 Suzuki GW250F this summer. Was riding all winter. Did not winterized the bike. Not sure how old is the battery. Runs fine, no problem with start. It has YUASA battery now. What are the signs of a tired battery I should watch for? Or should I just change it now, to be on a safe side? Don't want to stuck on the side of the road with a dead battery.

I was looking at AJC, which is about $40 and YUASA is almost $100.

Is AJC a good brand, worth buying or pay more money and get YUASA?
Does anyone have the same bike? Maybe you have advise for me.

Charge the battery at no more than 10% of it's rated output for 10 hrs.
Let the battery rest for 3 hrs.
Test it's voltage. If the voltage is 12.7v or better, you should be good.
 
With batteries you get what you pay for. Yuasa is still top of the heap as far as quality goes.
 
Learning how to bump start a bike can save you from being stranded by not only a dead battery, but also starter or sprag.

Last bike it tried to bump start was a no go not going to happen. 1198 Ducati smaller bikes sure I could get my sv going that way.

I think AJC are a chinese made battery. personally I would not go with something cheap like that. Yusa is a proven battery. Not worth being stuck on the side of the road.
 
i thought some of the new stuff would not bump start due to a safety switch in the clutch ie wouldn't start unless the clutch was pulled in - which you need to release for the bump start

Clutch switch is just starter lock out and only on Suzuki in neutral

so most of the new can bump start?

for grins I still start my car that way once in a while. assuming I parked on a grade.

If you can get the to turn over yes haven't had much luck with bigger twins

A couple years ago I couldn't start my bike due to battery post and connector terminal corroded. I attempted to bump start, it ran for a few seconds and died.
 
Battery connections are one of my first go to's when it's tough to start.
 
OP -
Any reputable shop will have a battery load tester and a deep cycle charger.
Take the battery in, have it checked and if necessary left on charge over night.
