Has anyone purchased a new genny/ inverter from the States and crossed into Canada? If so, did you run into issues? (please PM the details)

Cheers,

ship it to a convenient location, arrive at Canada customs, declare, pay duties/taxes and you're done.

I maybe tempting fate but, I've gone across the boarder to pick up some items and rarely get asked for anything. My riding friend picked up an auxilary fuel tank for his p/u and some bike parts. Was over more than a couple of hours. Canada customs didn't even ask for the paper work. He disclosed everything.

Just buy it. Keep the receipt. Pull up and tell them what you bought, give them the receipt if they ask. Be prepared to pay the tax but, there shouldn't be any duty.

It's my experience, they are looking for folks that are bringing in large quantities of booze and tobacco. And larger ticket items like vehicles/RVs/bikes/boats etc. They want to make sure you have proper documentation. Of course, they are looking for illegal stuff too.

A generator? Should be fine.

Guys, thanks for your help. I wasn't sure if emissions would be an issue.
