Advice about being briefly trapped in the city

I am going to be in the city for some medical entertainment next week, around University & College, and the kind that requires you to be escorted out by a friend/family member. Typically they just hang out in the waiting room, killing time by reading their tablet, a book, getting a coffee, etc, but it seems like this time they're basically not allowed on the floor (possibly in the building) until it's time to go. Now with the lockdown I'm worried that they're gonna get stuck on the sidewalk with their hands in their pockets for a few hours. Is there any place left for them to sit down or anything in the area?
 
When I dropped my wife off for surgery last month, she said a lot of people were allowed in to wait in the hospital even though 'no visitors' allowed. But the security guys stopped people, and the nurses/doctors **** on the security guys to let people in to wait for their loved ones.

With the lockdown, won't be much to do. Personally...I'd drop you off at the hospital, make sure you have a charged cell, and then drive down to the waterfront and go for a walk for a few hours. Or the beaches. So long as the weather co-operates.
 
mimico_polak's idea would be my go-to plan if there were restrictions to visitors in the hospital. Unfortunately next week's weather doesn't look great. If it wasn't for lockdowns there would be lots of time killers. I don't know if anyone would even be able to take a pee.

I would take my chances with heading down to the PATH and doing some window shopping, hoping for not too many others within six feet. In a worst case scenario sit in the car and read a book. There used to be some quieter parking around U of T but I haven't been down that way for a few years.

Just to add to the problem, College Street is closed nearby due to a sink hole.
 
Some hospitals are allowing no visitors at all during shutdown. No exceptions. I would plan for them to hangout outside (or in a vehicle) in case all more interesting options become non-viable.

Haha, my understanding was they were supposed to be the responsible adult. I wouldn't want my caregiver on shrooms. That can't end well.

How could enlightment and an expanded consciousness not benefit both parties?

DUI something something is the first thing that comes to mind....beyond that....enlighten away!
 
Thanks for the feedback. Typically we don't drive in and take the GO down instead but this time we did drive. My "caregiver" just dropped me off, then apparently killed time by driving around a bit and grabbing a coffee. I got fentanyled and probed (nurse was a rider too turned out) and things worked out. This won't be a huge surprise, but hospitals are not currently a place you would want (or are able) to hang out at.
