Adjusting preload. Where to jack up the bike.

I'm trying to adjust my the front and rear preload on my 2005 zx6r, but I cannot seem to find anywhere to jack the bike up to unload the suspension for the base measurement. With the lower fairings removed it's all exhaust and oil pan. Anyone have any ideas? Can I jack from the oil pan or will it get dented?

jack stands under the rearsets

you don't really need to jack it up though

Just tip it up on the kickstand takes about 10 sec with a buddy to measure

I'm a bit weary of the rearsets ever since I broke the pivot for the brake pedal. I'll give the kickstand a shot, thanks.

metal rod through the swingarm pivot works too!

I was playing around with that too, but couldn't find a rod kicking around the house.

The kickstand trick worked like a charm. Thanks again. Now I need to think about stiffer springs up front.

Most people do. Stock springs are pretty soft for track riding.

+1 for springs. I maxed the front preload on mine and it was still only 36mm of sag.
