Hey folks. It's that time of the year again. I need to get an AC. I do like to save some money by buying used. Do used one normally last? I just need them to last one season. Any insights and experiences would help. Thanks!!

Depending on the size you need, you can get them so stupidly cheap now (I saw $99 yesterday at Rona) that it's hardly worth bothering to find one used.
 
as Richard said, go grab a $99 rona special, they weigh less than old units, use less electric power and usually have an ok warranty.
 
As crankcall said, go new unless someone you know is flogging a used one for $20.00. When my old one packed it in a few years ago I couldn't believe how light the new one was.
