This coming Saturday, when the temps go up to 7deg, I want to go and check out the oldest or most picturesque abandoned schools I can find. Anyone know of any good ones? The older the better - I don't think we have any one-room schoolhouses around here... Cummer Public School in North York is all I have been able to find right now (from here) and would really like to find something older and more rough around the edges.
I must be able to ride my bike either right up to it.

Thanks!

One around in Alderwood was demolished just a couple of months ago; it was sitting there for quite a number of years.

Pioneer Village road trip?

Reesor Rd. in Markham.

One Room Schoolhouse

It was painted and converted to a home for a while, but hasn't been used as a school since the mid 60's. As a school it was red brick.

Yes there were 2 there:
St. Ambrose a few years ago
Father John Redmond was a few months ago on Valermo....pile of rubble now....shame as that was my high school and now it's going to be an area of brand new townhouses for $700k+

How about a really old schoolhouse? There's an old barn right next to it. Driveway goes right up to both.

Awesome and thanks - that's perfect!

I wanted to hit up Alderwood, but had read that it was a pile of rubble now. That would have been a neat place to get inside with the bike and take some pics. There's some pretty cool pics of the inside of it here: http://www.ontarioabandonedplaces.com/upload/showpic.asp?id=239454

Wife went to Redmond. They tore down my hs (power) years ago for condos.
Op, that should make for some nice pics. Please share afterwards.

Not abandoned, but the Covernotes cafe in Richmond Hill is a converted old school (I think).
