A loud pop followed by burning smell after I ignited my motorcycle?

Sometimes to help with igniting the bike faster I give it some gas in the pre ignition. I feel like I shouldn't have done that. What happened? Did I blow out my sparkplug? It only sounds like it's firing with only one cylinder. I'm still a rookie, I hope this isn't an expensive mistake.

Just joined this community...nice day to all!
You gave it some gas as in opened the throttle, or as in you poured gas into the Air box? What kind of burning smell(electrical?)

Welcome aboard. What bike?

I think he means that before starting his bike, he twisted the throttle a couple times, then started it and heard a loud pop.

Don't you have a choke on bike, sounds like plugs are fouled...no harm in checking plugs very easy job, most bikes have pops once in awhile usually when cold no big deal, probably
your ok..

We really need to know what kind of bike it is.
Why did you twist the throttle before hitting the start button?
Is it running now?

Generally when you twist the throttle open while attempting to start a bike, you are letting more fuel into the mixture. If you need to do this in order to start a bike, there is not enough air generally speaking.

Prolly hit wrong key.

engine is flooded...sparks ignites it...POP!
