My second day of riding and I already got a ticket. What can I do with it? I parked at shoppers world but not in the parking lot. I parked around the entrance of staples. Now I got a 40 dollar ticket for parking on private property. There was a bicycle stand there so I thought I might as well. Secondly, I parked it there because I knew I was going to be gone for a while and didn't want it to be stolen. And really thought I can park on the sidewalks and around entrances.

Should I fight it? Pay it off? Disregard it? Help me out please. I'll try to upload pictures of ticket.

It is a parking ticket that will not affect your driving or insurance records. Park properly in a spot designated for your vehicle. Scooters apparently can get away with this but not motorcycles. If you have the time/energy then fight it. If you own up and pay up, then your loss is only $40.

That doesn't look like an official ticket from the government. Correct me if im wrong... as im not entirely sure.

Anyways, if its not official and its from a private company, you dont need to pay it. Just dont let them see you and your bike there again.

Regardless... pay it, its only $40. It wont even affect your insurance premiums.

How do I tell if it is an official ticket? Is there a way to check? It does say I can fight it on the back.
 
I'm not familiar with City of Brampton tickets...but if it's an official ticket just pay it off. IMO $40 is not worth the time and effort fighting it as it will not affect your insurance unless you really want a day off from work for a $40 ticket.
 
Looks official to me but even if it isn't a private ticket can still go against your credit if they want to get nasty. As said, nothng to do with your insurance. Pay it or fight it depending on what your time is worth.
The court won't care about your theft worry or not knowing the law. You get off if you can disprove the ticket or the officer doesn't show.
 
Even if it's real and an official ticket it will NOT affect your insurance at all, don't worry and just pay the $40.
 
Thanks guys. I'm just going to pay for it. I was just worried statefarm was going to kick me off their insurance. I already had one ticket. Thanks again lads

Seriously...and last time I checked "The government" doesn't issue tickets, they're all municipal.
