98 750 SRAD Won't start

Hi guys, I couldn't get my bike to start this morning. I turned on the key, the fuel pump pressurized the system, it cranked, fired once like it usually does on cooler mornings, I tried it again and no go. I fuel pump is working, fuses are good, I pulled the plugs and cleaned them (not that they needed it), I put a fresh charge on the battery, tank is full, the plugs appeared to be dry when I pulled them. It's been a little harder to start the bike lately but that's indicative of my not taking for an extended hwy run to clean it out (my work commute and rides don't allow me to run it too hard). Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

Never mind, I got my kid to give me a push, bumped it and she fired right up. I'm heading to London tomorrow, a good hwy run will clean it out.

For quite a while now Suzuki has disabled the ignition if the voltage during cranking is under 11.5 v or so. It means that you could have a battery on its last legs. Makes sense that a bump start works, as the voltage won't sag from cranking. Good luck on the trip, you may have to bump again........

Thanks, actually the bike's been fine since I bumped it. I had filled it the night before, I'm wondering if I got a little water in the gas. As far as the battery goes it still cranks strong and my smart charger says it's good, which is pretty amazing considering it's original (1998) with 89,000km on it.

Just to have valves checked
