97 ZX 7 starter....where can i purchase one ?

Hey, i got a 97 zx-7 needing a new starter. Just wondering if anyone knows a fairly inexpensive place to get a new one ? Or someone have one laying around that wants to sell ?

I called Rosey Toes, mentioned something in the $300 range for the part alone, thought it was rather on the high side, any thoughts???

ebay? the redmonkey forum? local salvage shops?

UMI might make an aftermarket one for a 7R but that might be the price Ted gave you.
 
Are you sure you need an entire new starter? How about replacing the brushes first?
 
maybe someone can enlighten me then.... the housing itself is not grounding, therefore it blows my ignition fuse. Would this be a brushes problem ?

if i connect the starter to directly to a battery it works fine( off the bike), once i put on the bike frame and try to manually start with a wires it burns the wires.
I put a tester on it and it sends positives charge throughout the whole starter when grounded. :-S
