Includes button but not heated grips? That is embarassing. I wonder if they are there and software locked or if you are actually missing hardware. Moto industry needs a Kia to show the "premium" brands that continuing to be ***** and forcing you to pay extra for every simple/cheap to add option may not be sustainable. After watching this, kinda glad I bought the superduke
IMO, on a 20,000 pound bike, that is unacceptable. I would be annoyed but ok with that concession on a budget bike.As for the heated grips, I suspect the actual grips are different, but they leave the button there in order to only have the one switchgear part. Cost cutting plus a constant temptation to hit the accessories department when in for service...

and no cruise control
For $450, they should be giving me the proper switchgear as well (or more accurately, not giving the base bike useless switches). At least that way they give me something more than $5 worth of resistive grid for $450.The lack of cruise would be a much bigger deal to me, as you can't add that later. The Streetfighter is MSRP $24k here (even accounting for the VAT, Italian bikes are way cheaper in Canada for some reason), and the heated grips are a $450 option. KTM and Kawasaki offer similar accessory catalogue add-ons, and Aprilia and MV Agusta offer nothing at all. I don't have an issue with charging for something added, but I resent having to pay to unlock something that already exists in the software, such as an ECU map suited to aftermarket pipes. (Although the more people I talk to, the more it seems dealers often add these items for a nominal fee or for free, so it may be an easy way to build customer loyalty for minimal outlay.)
And that part could easily have contained the switch.Scratch that. He's reviewing the V4S, which is $28,595 CAD, but that goes into things like Marchesini wheels, not grips. Here's what you get for $410:

Tuono is under $20 grand, i'll allow it.It looks like it replaces the entire ride-by-wire rheostat, connection and spring mechanism, and adds the heaters and power leads. Definitely seems like an odd way to do it, but does keep it clean. My only choice on the Tuono is a set of R&G heated grips...
